Thinking about renovating your kitchen? Before you

Thinking about renovating your kitchen? Before you start choosing finishes, there are a few bigger decisions that should come first.

A successful kitchen renovation isn’t just about how it looks — it’s about creating a space that works for the way you actually live.

Here are 5 things I recommend deciding early:

1. How you want the space to function
How do you cook, entertain, store, and move through the kitchen?

2. Your layout
Before choosing cabinets or finishes, make sure the overall flow and work zones make sense.

3. Your appliances
Appliance sizes, locations, and clearances can have a major impact on your cabinetry and layout.

4. Lighting + electrical
These decisions need to happen early — not as an afterthought once the walls are already closed.

5. Your overall investment
Knowing your priorities and budget from the beginning helps guide every decision that follows.

The pretty finishes come later. The planning comes first.

Save this for when you’re ready to start your kitchen renovation.

And if you’re planning a renovation in Prince George or Northern BC, Belen Interiors can help you work through the design from the beginning.

Living my very own Disney moment. 💛🌻

I hadn’t planned on sharing much of my trip to Europe this year, as it was mostly a personal one. But after experiencing this, it felt impossible not to share one of the most magical and beautiful experiences of this trip.

What started as an afternoon walk along Girona’s ancient city walls with my son turned into one of the most memorable experiences of our journey.

I had no idea that, as we made our way toward the Cathedral, Disney was filming the live-action *Tangled*. We only realized it at the very end of our walk, when we unexpectedly found ourselves in the middle of the set. If you listen closely, you can even hear the music from the filming in some of the videos. It felt surreal.

And as if that wasn’t special enough, *Tangled* has been my favorite Disney story ever since I was a little girl. Finding ourselves there completely by chance felt like one of those magical travel moments you could never plan.

More than anything, this walk reminded me why I love to travel. Inspiration is everywhere—in centuries-old architecture, the texture of weathered stone, hidden gardens, winding streets, and the way golden light transforms a place at sunset.

Watching my son experience it all with such curiosity made the afternoon even more special. Seeing a place through a child’s eyes has a way of making you slow down, notice the little details, and appreciate the beauty around you.

Sometimes the most inspiring places are the ones you never planned to find.

Girona, you are absolutely beautiful. 💛

Currently out of office... somewhere between sangria, sunshine, and Gaudí. ☀️🇪🇸✨

We’re taking a little holiday break and will be back answering messages and getting to work in the first week of August.

Until then... ¡hasta luego! ❤️
